Old Harbor

Old Harbor Distilling Company is the first distillery in downtown San Diego, California. They approached Caava Design for a visual design strategy that included brand, packaging, and a web solution. The overall brand, bottles, marketing, and advertising materials created positioned Old Harbor as a weathered, seasoned product that fit right in with San Diego maritime culture. For the bottles, we wanted to use one bottle type, but find a subtle way to differentiate the line of multiple products. The ‘Spirit Symbol System’ and color palette was our solution, where we created a distinct, branded symbol and color for each product. The labeling system utilizes a strong typographic hierarchy system that easily accommodates to new products as their line grows.
