
Yesterday I had the special treat to hang out at Quality Letterpress, a craft printing press shop in San Diego. Having an affinity for typography and the history of printing, I was beside myself like a kid in a candy store. The textures, machinery, woodblock and lead type, accented with the smell of grease and ink made for a rich experience full of nostalgic character. Sadly, letterpress is a quickly fading art form. I suppose that fact only makes time spent at a place like this all the more special. The reason I took this picture was to show how the Caava Design logo typography is a tribute to old woodblock type, a the resemblance you can see in the set featured above.
