ReView Religion (
http://reviewreligion.org) will be a series of short documentary films that will act as a supplement for education on world religions. While these films will focus on some basic informational facts about world religions, they will mostly focus on showing the diverse ways that people experience/practice various religions. The approach is inspired by the producers experience as student travelers - where learning about religion from someone who practiced that religion inspired much more of an open-minded understanding than learning the same ideas from a textbook.
Their group feels very strongly about the importance of educational material on world religions being more accessible, more diverse, and, most importantly, more human. They understand that people disagree on key theological issues - this project is not attempting to convince anyone differently. The main goal here is to get people to treat others as they would like to be treated. Eloquently stated, "We think that when people are exposed to the human side of various world religions, they are less likely to carry uniformed, prejudiced views, and more likely to treat those who are different than them with a little more respect."
